Dashboard widgets

Widgets are the building blocks of dashboards. Groups organize your widgets so they're easy to find when composing a page.

Widget Groups

Click Add New Group to create a group. Any group you create is available when you build a dashboard.

Widgets

Click Add New Widget to create one. Each widget belongs to a group and can be a URL link (for example, a published query or chart) or an HTML snippet.

Many builders also have a Use this as a Widget checkbox (see Queries, Charts, Timelines, Forms) that auto-creates a widget when you save the item, so you rarely need to add widgets by hand.

Pick a target with the Target URL field

Target URL is a searchable picker — start typing and matching items appear as you go. Placeholder text: Type a URL or search query, form, chart, dashboard, timeline…

• Suggestions kick in from the first character.
• Search matches each item's name and type, so typing chart shows every chart, and typing Revenue shows anything named Revenue.
• Each row shows the item's name and a colour-coded badge for its type: Query, Form, Chart, Dashboard, or Timeline.
• When you pick an item, its link is filled in and set up to display neatly inside the widget.
